De Rust Futura Academy opened its doors more than 60 years ago, on the 27th of January 1957, by Dr. Paul Cluver’s mother, Gertrude. It is situated on the border of the Cluver Estate and started with only 23 learners.
The school was established to provide quality education for the children of the farm workers who worked on the surrounding farms.
The school has now grown and developed into a School of Excellence, supplying children with education from crèche to 12. After becoming a High School on the 1st of January 2007, a name change from De Rust Primary to De Rust Futura Academy was done. Our enrollment numbers have also increased tremendously, proving that our school is the preferred institution for quality education, within our district.
